Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Senior Engineer to lead on-site technical engagements with large manufacturing facilities, focusing on identifying opportunities to reduce fossil fuel consumption and accelerate decarbonization. In this role, you will work directly with plant managers, operations teams, and executive leadership to assess existing thermal energy systems, analyze energy usage patterns, and develop actionable roadmaps for transitioning to more efficient, lower-emission technologies.
Your work will be central to helping our clients meet regulatory requirements, reduce operating costs, and reach their sustainability goals. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in industrial thermal processes (ie steam systems, kilns, ovens, etc…) along with a strong understanding of the decarbonization landscape including electrification, alternative fuels, and energy efficiency best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth, on-site assessments of industrial facilities to identify fossil fuel usage and energy efficiency opportunities
Evaluate equipment such as boilers, furnaces, kilns, dryers, and associated distribution systems
Analyze process data and develop energy models to quantify savings potential and CO₂ reduction impacts
Lead the development of site-specific decarbonization roadmaps, including technical feasibility, capital requirements, and implementation timelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sustainability leaders, utilities, and OEMs to design and recommend customized solutions
Stay current on emerging technologies, regulatory trends, and incentive programs related to industrial decarbonization
Support the preparation of client proposals, technical reports, and presentation materials
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field
Must have 5+ years of experience in industrial energy systems, with hands-on knowledge of thermal processes, steam systems, or process heating equipment. Please do not apply unless you are experienced and comfortable in industrial environments
Proven ability to independently conduct site assessments and translate technical findings into strategic recommendations
Strong communication skills with experience presenting to both technical and executive audiences
Familiarity with decarbonization technologies such as electrification, renewable fuels, waste heat recovery, or carbon capture is a plus
